Course: Child Care and Education

The Guru Kashi University B.Voc program in Child Care and Education intends to furnish students with an adequate foundation in the principles and practices integral to child care and education for effectiveness. This shall enable its graduates to become well-equipped to tend to the developmental and educational needs of young children by acquiring competencies in early childhood development, educational procedures, and child-centred interventions.

  • Skill Development: This course will provide students with hands-on training in child care and educational techniques such as child assessment, curriculum implementation, and the planning of age-appropriate activities. The insights they gain during practical training sessions equip students with the fundamental skills required to nurture and facilitate children's development and learning in diverse settings.

  • Professional Education: It attempts to present complete theoretical and practical aspects of child care and education, including developmental psychology, teaching methods, child health, and safety. This professional education prepares students to understand the complexity of child development and effectively create learning environments that promote these activities.

  • General Education: Also, relevant general education subjects should be included for a sound academic base that would teach critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, which are essential in managing child care settings that attend to the varied needs of children and their families.

  • Flexibility: The graduates would, therefore, be empowered to fit the paradigm of imminent research trends and developments in child care and education. They would keep abreast of new ideas, practices, and policies in education-well able to meet the shifting demands of children and the landscape of education.
