Course: B.Voc in Optometry

The B.Voc in Optometry program by Guru Kashi University will lay down a strong foundation for students on principles and practices of Optometric patient care. This, in turn, shapes the learner into a graduate who possesses the knowledge and skills to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering holistic eye care by refining skills on clinical procedures, patient management, and optometric technology.

  • Skill Development: For the attainment of the practical competencies necessary for efficiency in patient management, provide thorough training in patient evaluation, patient management, and the use of optometric equipment for optometric patient care activities like diagnostic procedures
  • Professional Education: To ensure that the whole understanding of the profession includes in-depth knowledge of principles of optometry, theoretical as well as clinical and historical aspects of eye care.
  • General Education: Courses in general education should be included, which will provide a well-rounded academic background for critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities in the optometric context.
  • Employment and Entrepreneurship: It should equip learners to start their own small businesses relating to optometry or health care and prepare them for satisfying work in various types of optometric environments, such as clinics and optical shops.
  • Adaptability: Prepare students to be adaptable and thrive in the developing field of optometry as they stay abreast and current with changing technology and techniques of patient care, fully preparing themselves for ongoing industry changes.
