Located in Phagwara, Punjab, India, Lovely Professional institution (LPU) is a private state institution that was founded in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act. It provides more than 150 programs in a range of fields, including as business, engineering, law, pharmacy, and the humanities. The university has the highest grade of 'A++' and a score of 3.68 on a 4-point scale, making it the highest-scoring government and private university in India in the first cycle of accreditation. It is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
